I agree. Most chickens that are fed to us these days are really unhealthy especially those served by fast food chains. I didn't know that Bali has a special chicken recipe. But it's quite hard to have that meal because you need to be invited by a Balinese family or if you visit a temple. I have a question about that, when you visit a temple, do they immediately offer you that dish? Or do you have to pay them or accomplish some task?

Tavel abroad, you will definitely teast a lot of different style of food, if you travel to Bali, you will teast Bali food, real Balinese food is not readily available to tourists unless a Balinese family invites the tourist to a meal or he goes to a temple. The reason is that there is too much preparation, large quantities have to be prepared and it has to be eaten when it is fresh. It is often spicy and very tasty. The Balinese traditionally used banana leaves as plates.

Balinese chickens are much healthier and have the taste of real chicken, but can be tougher than Western battery-fed chickens. Battery-fed chickens only live for 41 days, specially and artificially bred to produce large chunks of breast and short legs. The rush is now on to reduce the period of 41 days.

This is good information to know prior to going. How can I get traditional food without knowing a family to eat with? I would love to have the authentic food and not the "touristy" food while I am vacationing. The food is one of the reasons I am choosing a country I have never been to.
