Please forward this letter to anyone you would like.
As you know I have been a guest for many years now at Kebun Indah, Alam Indah
and Alam Jiwa. And now that Wayan, my wife, and I are sending some of our
dearest friends and family to stay in all three places, we are completely
shocked by the outrageous allegations made by Mr. O'Roarty.

First of all the security guard who was most likely on duty at Alam Jiwa last
February is from my wife's village, a good honest fellow who would never have
acted improperly. If he entered the woman's room at all it would have been
because he felt she was being threatened by someone else. Simple as that.

As far as the alleged robbery at Kebun Indah I simply reject 100% the notion
that any of the staff there could have been involved. I know all the staff
there personally and would vouch for every one of them.

Mr. O'Roarty provides no proof that the staff knew she was carrying a large
amount of cash. Of course they knew when she was arriving and where she would
stay. That's their job! He provides no evidence that anyone on staff was
involved in planning or assisted in the alleged crime. If his wife could
identify the specific staff member then why didn't she?

As for Ibu Wayan showing "callous indifference" all I can say is Mr. & Mrs.
O'Roarty must be suffering from some kind of of mistaken identity disorder.
Pure poppycock.

Meanwhile we are happy to report that none of our guests planning to come to
Bali this Fall and in 2003, to Kebun, Alam Jiwa, and the DeLaChappelles to
Alam Indah, have cancelled their plans.

We'll be back in January and hope we see you. By the way the website looks
great and we hope sometime to see what you're up to in Laos.

All the best,

Richard Nevell & Ni Wayan Suarni
